Basketball: Vince Carter confirms end of NBA career


    After expressing his desire to call it a day several times during the ongoing NBA season, 43-year-old Vince Carter has officially retired.

    The Atlanta Hawks’ guard/forward finishes a 22-year career after stints with Toronto Raptors, New Jersey Nets (now Brooklyn Nets), Orlando Magic, Phoenix Suns, Dallas Mavericks, Memphis Grizzlies, Sacramento Kings and, most recently, the Hawks.

    He’s an eight-time NBA All-Star and also won the 2000 Slam Dunk Contest among many other accolades.

    Vince finishes his career at number 19 on the all-time top scorers list with 25,728 points after 1,541 games.
