Crunch time for TKR – hopes and prayers for good weather

Trinbago Knight Riders (and TKR fans) will be praying today for favourable weather, as they prepare to take on Barbados Tridents in Qualifier #2 in the Caribbean Premier League.

It is a semi-final of sorts, since the winner will advance to the final to take on the impeccable Guyana Amazon Warriors.

However, if rain does wash out the match at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba, Tridents will advance since it finished higher than TKR in the preliminaries.

Tridents finished second while TKR were fourth.

The match is due to start at 7pm.

However T&T is under a Yellow Level Adverse Weather Alert until 6pm, with the MET Service’s forecast being – “Mostly cloudy with some showers and isolated thundershowers improving dramatically during nightfall.”

Tridents will be confident ahead of the match, since they beat TKR in both of their matches in the preliminary stage.

TKR however will be brimming, having broken a losing streak with a strong showing against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in the Eliminator.

The CPL organizers also have a couple of PSAs for the final, which takes place this Saturday at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy:
