Former West Indies fast bowler, Fidel Edwards, has moved to the Birmingham Bears on loan for their first 10 Vitality Blast T20s.
Edwards will return to Hampshire after the one-month deal.
He was in line to play in today’s clash between the Bears and defending champions, Worcestershire Rapids but the game was abandoned due to rain.
Birmingham’s next game will be on Sunday at home versus Leicestershire Foxes from 9:30am.
The club’s Sport Director, Paul Farbrace, says, “Fidel is high class fast bowler, who has played international cricket across all three formats, and we’re very grateful to Hampshire for allowing him to come to Edgbaston at such short notice. It’s well known that our seam bowling resources have been stretched in recent weeks, but the addition of Fidel bolsters our attack as we enter this important opening weekend of the Vitality Blast.”
