Former India captain Anil Kumble has been put in charge of IPL franchise Kings XI Punjab.
According to the club, he has been named Director of Cricket Operations after the departure of Coach Mike Hesson in August 2019.
KXIP co-owner Mohit Burman says Kumble will decide which players will stay and which players will be released.
Kumble played the IPL for three seasons until 2010, captaining the Royal Challengers Bangalore, and then took over as mentor in 2011.
He later served in the same role for the Mumbai Indians before his last coaching stint with India up until 2017.
