Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas is calling on French authorities to reconsider and review their decision to end the football season early.
According to the BBC, on April 28th officials announced that the Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 seasons would not resume because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Lyon were seventh when the season was ended, which means they miss out on European qualification.
In a letter to France’s prime minister and sports minister, Aulas said French football would face an “unprecedented economic and social crisis”.
Ligue 1 is the only one of the big five European leagues to have ended its season.
The German Bundesliga has resumed while the top flights in Spain, Italy and England are hoping for restarts in June.
