Kyle Hope has been dropped from T&T Red Force squad as the local side continues its CWI Championship campaign this week.
T&T host Leeward Islands Hurricanes at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy from January 16th to 19th and then face defending champs Guyana Jaguars from January 23rd to 26th at the Guyana National Stadium.
Hope, the older brother of West Indies international Shai Hope, has had a lean run of form with scores of 5, 4, 34, 47, 16, 33 and 8 in last year’s Super50 Cup.
In last season’s 4-day campaign, he made just 215 runs across 10 innings, making just one half-century.
Then, in this year’s CWI Championship opener against Jamaica (which T&T drew), Hope made just 9 seeing him replaced in the squad as Jason Mohammed makes a return.
Imran Khan, meanwhile, is still unavailable as he recovers from injury – fellow legspinner Kissoondath Magram has been drafted into the team.
Magram has been impressive in recent times, taking a 5-wicket haul in the trial match that took place just before the tournament began.
The spinner was also part of a West Indies camp that benefited from the coaching of Mushtaq Ahmed in mid-2019.
