Pollard, Bravo, Narine among several players retained by their IPL franchises


    Kolkata Knight Riders have dropped Javon Searles from its squad for the 2019 IPL, however it will hang on to mystery spinner Sunil Narine and all-rounder Andre Russell.

    The various teams today revealed the ins and out of their pre-season trading selections, ahead of the annual auction next month.

    Evin Lewis and Kieron Pollard have been retained by Mumbai Indians, Chris Gayle will stay with Kings XI Punjab, and Dwayne Bravo is again a Chennai Super King.

    Carlos Brathwaite however has been released by Sunrisers Hyderabad.

    David Warner and Steve Smith, who were both banned for ball-tampering in March last year, have been included by Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals respectively.

    Australian players in general though are expected to play a limited role in next year’s IPL as they will be rested for the World Cup, which starts shortly after.
