Debut captain Rashid Khan has inspired Afghanistan to their 2nd Test victory as they defeated Bangladesh in a one-off game.

The leg-spinner took 6 wickets as Bangladesh crashed to 173 all out in their 2nd innings in search of 398 runs.

He removed Mushfiqur Rahim, Mominul Haque, Mahmudullah, Soumya Sarkar, Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Taijul Islam to grab 6/49 to add to his 1st innings 5/55.

Bangladesh put up some resistance through Shadman Islam (41) and Shakib Al Hasan (44) but it was not to be.

The victory seemed unlikely after just 18.3 overs were allowed following a third rain interruption.

After the game, Rashid dedicated his Player of the Match award to Mohammad Nabi who was playing his final Test.

This was Afganistan’s 3rd Test – they were demolished by India inside two days in their first ever game in the format in June 2018 but bounced back to beat Ireland by 7 wickets in March this year.
