Robin van Persie loses final match as a professional footballer


    Robin van Persie’s final professional game ended in defeat as his side were beaten by ADO Den Haag.

    Van Persie who plays for Feyenoord will not feature against Fortuna Sittard in the final game of the season on Wednesday.

    His side lost today’s match 2-0.


    Van Persie scored 50 goals in 102 appearances for the Netherlands.

    In England, van Persie won an FA Cup with Arsenal and a Premier League title at Manchester United.

    His 144 Premier League goals make him the highest-scoring Dutchman in the competition.

    Van Persie has scored 25 goals in 49 appearances in all competitions since rejoining Feyenoord in January 2018.
