Sevilla defender apologizes after horror tackle

Sevilla centre-back Joris Gnagnon has apologized for a horror tackle that saw Liverpool’s Yasser Larouci stretchered off field.

BBC Sport reports that the tackle came as Sevilla were annoyed that 18 year old Larouci played on when one of their players was down.

The incident earned Gnagnon a straight red card.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp hopes the situation is not as bad as first feared saying, “Let me say how the situation is with Yasser; it looks like he was lucky but, of course, how it always is with these things we have to wait a little bit. He couldn’t keep on playing, so that’s the first not-so-good sign but in the dressing room it was OK, similar how it looks to Harry [Wilson].”

In his apology, Gnagnon said his tackled was a heinous act “that should not be seen on a football field for any reason”.
