Coach Phil Simmons wants the West Indies to carry their intensity from the ODI series whitewash over Afghanistan into the upcoming the 3-match T20i series.

The regional team put in three solid performances in the 50-over format to easily sweep aside a struggling Afghanistan.

With the first of three T20s beginning tomorrow at 9:30am T&T time, Simmons is looking for the same energy from his players.

Simmons says this series is important as it is the beginning of preparations for their World T20 title defense in October and November next year.

FULL SQUAD: Kieron Pollard (captain), Evin Lewis, Shimron Hetmyer, Sherfane Rutherford, Brandon King, Fabian Allen, Hayden Walsh Jr, Jason Holder, Lendl Simmons, Khary Pierre, Sheldon Cottrell, Denesh Ramdin, Kesrick Williams and Alzarri Joseph

Nicholas Pooran was supposed to be part of the T20i squad but will missing West Indies’ next four 20-over matches after being banned for ball tampering.
