Trinbago Knight Riders are out of the 2019 Caribbean Premier League after succumbing to Barbados Tridents in a keenly contested match at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba.
Tridents were made to bat first and were slowed down at times by excellent bowling, particularly from Sunil Narine and Khary Pierre.
However despite regular wickets and the loss of JP Duminy to injury, Tridents accelerated enough to reach 160/6.
Ali Khan, Chris Jordan and Khary Pierre grabbed two wickets each.
During their reply, TKR seemed to have the perfect start with 4 boundaries from Sunil Narine off the 1st over.
Soon however, they lost the wickets of Lendl Simmons and Narine in quick succession to slump to 19/2.
Skipper Kieron Pollard sparked the comeback but it was Seekkuge Prasanna that lit the fires of hope.
He hit 51 off 27 balls before falling on the first ball of the final over.
Khary Pierre soon followed and TKR were all out for 148.
Tridents won by 12 runs and will meet Guyana Amazon Warriors in Saturday’s final.
Ashley Nurse was named Man of the Match for his all round effort of 2/14 and 24*.
