Roger Federer overcame a sluggish mid-match run to beat Rafael Nadal 7-6, 1-6, 6-3, 6-4 and book a meeting with Novak Djokovic in the Wimbledon final on Sunday at 9am.
After the dramatic match, which took just over three hours, Federer said, “I’m exhausted. It was tough at the end – Rafa played some unbelievable shots to stay in the match.”
Defending champ, Djokovic, will be the favourite heading into Sunday’s final, a repeat of the 2014 and 2015 finals that Djokovic won on both occasions.
The Serb earlier today beat his Spanish opponent, Roberto Bautista Agut, 6-2, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.
Meanwhile, tomorrow morning from 9 o’clock, USA’s Serena Williams will face Romania’s Simona Halep in the women’s single finals.
