The West Indies’ chances of a knockout spot in the 2019 World Cup are slimmer than before after a loss to Bangladesh.

Shai Hope’s 96 took the West Indies to 321/8 batting first as Evin Lewis made 70 and Shimron Hetmyer made 50.

However, Bangladesh’s batsmen dispatched the regional bowlers to all parts of the Cooper Associates County Ground in Taunton.

Shakib Al Hasan made 124 not out while Liton Das was also unbeaten on 94.

The win, coming inside 42 overs, was Bangladesh’s highest successful chase in ODIs.
